ESPLANADE II RESIDENCE
Elevated above the street and turned toward the bay, Esplanade II Residence is a home of respite and refined living. Our clients wanted contemporary calm and a life facing the water, so we have shaped a house that opens to expansive views, while remaining a sanctuary. Overlooking Port Phillip Bay in Brighton, the façade pairs textural limestone and travertine. Louvres filter light through to a restrained caramel-and-sand interior where sculleries, bars and powder rooms tuck out of sight.
A double-height entry draws up through the central core to a top floor split between gathering and retreat, lit by northern skylights. The kitchen island reads as a sculpture, anchored by the pivoting bronze Apparatus Trapeze pendant. The main living room frames the bay like a painting, where a dark-toned, recessed stone pulls the eye west to the ever-changing weather rolling in. On the ground floor, private bedroom wings open to garden courtyards – or close down entirely when the house falls quiet.
