BIKINI BALI

Once home to an open art gallery, Bikini’s new concrete architecture embraces an inward focus, enveloping patrons in the mood and seclusion of the interior, where an open-air cocktail bar, intimate private function space and double-height dining room harness a playfully sensual language.

From the elevated, street-facing patio, a continuous concrete and ribbed terrazzo bar draws in inward, stepping confidently through the dining room before terminating as an intimate chef’s table. Custom designed wall sconces illuminate dining settings, animating bespoke, white and grey marble tables. A private function room is suspended above, its angular, box-like form echoing the restaurant’s raked ceiling profile.

Inspired by Bikini’s vibrant pink branding, the interior is enlivened by shots of pink detailing – namely, in illuminated neon affirmations and sinuous fuchsia paint drips scaling the dining room’s double height walls. Created by Australian artist, Ash Keating, using paint-filled fire extinguishers, the sprayed artwork melds with the curvaceous banquette seating below; a dramatic yet tender reference to the site’s artistic legacy.
