On a site once home to an open art gallery, Bikini turns inward, its concrete architecture wrapping guests in the mood and seclusion of the interior. Beneath a raked ceiling, an open-air cocktail bar, an intimate private function space and a double-height dining room share a language that is both playful and sensual. A continuous bar of concrete and terrazzo features a front ribbed in a concertina fold. Above, the private function room is suspended as an angular box, echoing the pitch of the ceiling.

Grey tones set the base: terrazzo underfoot, white and grey marble tabletops lit by custom wall sconces, and lavish banquettes in grey leather that roll through the room like sand dunes.

Pink adds the elevated touch. Neon affirmations glow, as well as LED lighting that washes the concrete in a rosy hue, and fuchsia drips down the double-height walls, an artwork by Australian artist Ash Keating, sprayed from paint-filled fire extinguishers. The combination is a dramatic yet tender nod to the site’s artistic past.
